About the role:

This new position within the exceptionally dynamic and passionate Community Engagement Team will play an integral role in bringing greater awareness to MND Victoria’s ‘story’ both within the MND community and the general public. The successful candidate will work closely with the Communications Manager and other key team members to engage media, government officials and other key stakeholders, and promote and garner support for all aspects of MND Victoria’s work and the stories of those we support. Advocating for the needs of people living with MND and the important work of MND Victoria is critically important to our goal of improving and increasing our wide range of support services that help people with MND live better for longer.

About you:

You will be an exceptional communicator and able to build strong and meaningful relationships with a wide range of people. Previous experience in a communications, journalism or stakeholder engagement role is important. You need to enjoy working in a cohesive and passionate team but be comfortable and confident to work autonomously with your specific skillset.

About us:

MND Victoria’s mission is to provide and promote the best possible care and support for people living with motor neurone disease (MND). We are the only not for profit organisation in Victoria providing direct care to people living with MND, at no cost to them.

There are 50 staff members, working passionately across our support services, administration, education, and community engagement teams, and we embody a one team environment.

  • We have an open workplace culture that welcomes everyone’s input, ideas and ways of working.
  • We have an accessible EAP program to ensure everyone can receive support when needed.
  • You will have the opportunity to develop skills and learn with professional development, workshops, and group participation, along with open communication and regular check ins with your manager.
  • MND Victoria provides additional paid leave during the Christmas break to ensure you can enjoy the holiday season.

At MND Victoria, you’ll experience a welcoming environment filled with dedicated and caring people from a wide variety of backgrounds who are passionate about providing the best possible care until the world is free of MND.

This is a full-time position (part-time can be considered for the right candidate). It will be subject to a 6-month probation period. Excellent salary ($94,354 per annum plus super) with salary packaging available.
