The Cancer Epidemiology Division (CED) conducts a broad range of research aimed at expanding our understanding of the factors that contribute to or protect against the development of cancer, or survival following a cancer diagnosis. It comprises a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, statisticians, dieticians, data managers and support staff, committed to understanding how to improve our efforts at cancer control.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Research Data Analyst to join the Cancer Epidemiology Division. Reporting to the Research Data Engineer your role is to:

  • Work with researchers and data managers to co-design and present data models that support visualisations.
  • Work alongside data managers to clean, transform, and organise raw data into usable formats.
  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines for efficient ELT/ETL.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and/or experience in Data and Analytics role.
  • Experience in data engineering, data warehouses, ETL development, data structures, storage, specifications, and architectures.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
