The Fundraising and Communications Division (FCD) is responsible for creating ways for people to play their part in saving lives and reducing the impact of cancer.

Through a diverse revenue generation program, the Division works to ensure funds are raised to support Cancer Council Victoria to achieve its mission of empowering people, saving lives and preventing cancer.

The Brand, Communications and Marketing Unit works across multiple channels and campaigns, to deliver innovative, omni-channel, impactful marketing and communications activities. This drives supporter, consumer and public engagement, fundraising outcomes and understanding of CCV brand.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Public Relations Coordinator to join the Fundraising and Communications Division. Reporting to the Public Relations Manager your role is to:

  • Develop and implement PR strategies for Cancer Council Victoria’s programs and campaigns, working closely with the PR Manager and internal teams.
  • Cultivate great working relationships with journalists and media outlets
  • Use your creativity to bring our campaigns to life in the media
  • Elevate the voices of people affected by cancer through storytelling
  • Oversee media monitoring and report on campaign results and media coverage

Working closely with teams across the organisation and beyond, the PR Coordinator is integral to building Cancer Council’s brand in the media landscape, ensuring strong presence and representation across our fundraising campaigns, program areas and for our spokespeople. All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience and understanding of public relations strategies and media management in both traditional and online environments.
  • Advanced Diploma in Public Relations, Communications or other relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the proven ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Base salary of $69,090 to $76,464 p.a. (dependant on experience, pro rata for part time) plus 11% superannuation
