About the Role

The Fundraising Manager -Single Giving is a leadership role, managing a team of 3 and reporting into the Head of Fundraising. It is an opportunity to lead, mentor and coach a dynamic team, to produce results that have serious impact on humanitarian efforts.

In this role you will lead the Donor Lifecycle Strategy, driving the acquisition of new donors, building retention, loyalty, and increasing the lifetime value of single giving/cash gifts, including those for disaster relief. This role is pivotal in developing and executing strategies across multiple channels such as direct mail, telemarketing, email, digital, and SMS to maximise engagement and revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will embrace data and technology to enhance and improve donor experiences, whilst partnering with specialist fundraising agencies to drive strategy and results. The ability to collaborate and work with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external is paramount to succeed in this role, as well as being agile, ambitious, and comfortable with navigating change for the better.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement evidence-based donor acquisition, retention, and growth strategies.
  • Deliver multi-channel, multi-touch direct marketing across channels including direct mail, telemarketing, email, digital, SMS.
  • Lead a team to deliver strategic objectives and cultivate relationships with donors.
  • Manage large budgets to achieve measurable outcomes and performance goals.
  • Deliver and optimise the donor journey across allocated programs supporting revenue and engagement goals.
  • Work with channel specialists and the communications team on the execution of touchpoints ensuring supporter needs are met.
  • Work with the Data Science team on activity code management.
  • Report KPIs against the team’s program and product strategies, budgets and targets.
  • Manage holistic data brief for products/programs/campaigns.
  • Liaise with teams to set-up financial processing for products/programs/campaigns.
  • Collaborate with other Fundraising Managers to contribute to a positive and engaging culture.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven experience in fundraising management particularly in individual giving / direct marketing / campaign management or equivalent in the commercial sector.
  • Profound knowledge and skills in creating evidence-based strategies for donor acquisition, reactivation, retention, loyalty, and growth, meeting financial and non-financial targets.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing effective acquisition, retention, and growth strategies.
  • A data led approach, creative mindset, curiosity, and a history of innovation.
  • Experience in people management and leadership roles, contributing to leadership teams.
  • Capability to work independently under minimal supervision, lead diverse teams, and foster collaboration.
  • Capacity to set high performance standards for yourself and teams, ensuring goal achievement.
  • Proven track record in managing significant budgets to achieve measurable outcomes and performance targets.
  • A quick thinker and highly responsive.
  • Great communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities and able to demonstrate capabilities to work in a matrix organisation.
  • A passion and interest in working for a humanitarian charity.
