At batyr, we care deeply about those we welcome into our team and do our best to support our team. We do this by:
batyr is committed to providing a safe, culturally appropriate, inclusive environment for all people, regardless of ethnicity, faith, disability, sexuality, or gender identity. We believe that everyone’s voice is valid and worthy of being heard, and because of this, we strongly encourage people from all backgrounds to apply, especially those from minority or marginalised communities.
We are a preventative youth mental health charity created and driven by young people for young people. We empower young people with the confidence and skills to overcome tough times and look out for each other. We work to create stigma-free communities that champion young people’s mental health and well-being. Our vision is a world where all young people lead mentally healthy and fulfilling lives.
We are an energetic, fun and dynamic team passionate about creating meaningful change for youth mental health. Excitingly, we are on the hunt to build our team with even more passionate, skilled and driven people to continue to develop our high-performance culture and expand the reach and impact of batyr. If you want a workplace where you can bring your full, weird and wonderful self to the office daily, this is the place.
You’re more than just an accountant. You love numbers, spreadsheets and solving the world’s (and batyr’s) problems. You have a real eye for detail and you’re not afraid to get down to the nitty gritty. Budgeting, forecasting and reporting are music to your ears and you never take your eye off the big picture, ensuring that batyr is set up to continue to grow over the years to come. You’re a process and efficiency guru, deadlines are hardwired into your brain and you’re always striving for a better way to do things.
As with all of our employees, you will have an active interest in tackling the stigma in young people around mental health, and are aligned to batyr’s five values; empathy, inclusive, balance, positive and bold.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day to day financial operations of batyr. Working with the Head of Finance and Finance Officer, the Senior Accountant will closely monitor and evaluate batyr’s financial position to ensure that we are in tip-top shape and can continue meeting our operational and strategic milestones. The role will also be responsible for continually improving the financial policies and procedures of the organisation and working with the whole team to ensure that these are followed to the letter.
This role will report to the Head of Finance, based in Sydney.
