The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities provides support services across child protection, domestic and family violence, youth justice services, multicultural affairs and senior’s recognition. As Deputy CEO, Strategy, Performance and Enabling Services, your primary objective is to provide high-level expert advice and strategic leadership to inform the development of the Department’s strategy and strategic policies, and to ensure strategic and reform priorities deliver on the Agency’s and Government’s objectives, and address the needs of the communities being served.

Your responsibilities will include the provision of organisational performance & monitoring and enabling service functions to ensure the delivery of high-quality frontline services. Working with the Senior Executive Group, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, Government and Non-Government Agencies, you will ensure the implementation of strategic programs, policies and reform initiatives, and provide high-level strategic advice to the Chief Executive, Ministers and key stakeholders on matters relating to performance, management, strategic commissioning, strategic projects and legal services.

In addition, you will oversee the development and implementation of the Department’s fiscal strategy and ensure effective budgetary oversight across the Department.

To meet the challenges of this strategic role, you require demonstrated success leading a large multi-disciplinary team in a complex operating environment, a strong understanding of government budgeting and financial management frameworks, and high-level expertise in performance management and continuous improvement. Proven political acumen, cultural competence and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build organisational capability and ensure responsive and effective change management.
