About the team

The Libraries Arts and Culture department provides a range of public library services across four library sites as well as online, including all Library Collections services, Readers Advice, Children’s and Youth services, library programming and events, family history workshops and craft activities.  Our Arts and Cultural services include a range of outdoor events, arts programming, History and Heritage services, Visual Arts and our Galleries.

About the role

Our Support Officer is at the center of our administrative operations, ensuring seamless support that's not just efficient but also timely and impactful. Your friendly demeanour will be the face of our department, providing outstanding service to our patrons while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Manager of Libraries, Arts, and Culture with scheduling and administrative tasks.
  • Building strong connections with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Delivering polished correspondence, reports, and documents with precision and speed.
  • Keeping our document management systems running smoothly to streamline our workflows.
  • Elevating our media and communications materials with your eye for detail and creative flair.

The following is also required:

  • Experience and demonstrated skills in providing high level, confidential administrative support.
  • Developing and maintaining effective administrative systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise and interact with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Highly developed knowledge and proficiency in computer systems and packages including the Microsoft Office suite and other specialist software products.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and perform multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.

Interview information

The interviews will take place between Monday, 13 May and Friday, 17 May 2024, between 9am and 5pm.
