In a typical week in this job, you are likely to do the following things:

  • In conjunction with site staff, identify individual participants/apprentice and trainee employment strengths and aspirations.
  • Source vacancies matched to participant/apprentice and trainee needs using a range of strategies, or attract vacancies through marketing to contribute to the general job placement vacancy pool.
  • Proactively engage in the local business community to identify and understand local business needs considering all opportunities across every CVGT program.
  • Negotiate Wage Subsidies, workplace support and other support options to enhance participant/ apprentice or trainee employment prospects using available program funding sources.
  • Provide feedback to other team members to assist participant/apprentice and trainee development.
  • Refer participants/apprentices and trainees to vacancies.
  • Confirm job placements that you have sourced and assist with the provision of post placement support or ongoing support as required.
  • Engage in social media marketing, e-newsletters, and other mass-market opportunities.
  • Where required, coordinate workplace assessments and job redesign.
  • Conduct risk assessments on internships, apprenticeships or traineeships and other relevant placements.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate records and activity summaries in relevant software programs.
  • Travel to part-time and outreach locations as required. Provide information and support to employers/host employers on employment matters
  • Represent CVGT at relevant stakeholder meetings, industry groups, education days and employer networking events.
  • Lead initiatives that drive community and employer engagement designed to increase placements.
  • Participate in a regular audit schedule which includes Department assurance activity audits, internal quality audits and other program related audits.
  • Assist with the collection of documentary evidence to support claims and processes required for usage of available program funding sources
