Consumers of Mental Health WA (CoMHWA) is the peak body for consumers of mental health services in WA. As a community based not for profit organisation, CoMHWA understands, listens and acts upon the voice of consumers of mental health and the wider community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

CoMHWA’s In-Reach and Engagement Officer promotes CoMHWA membership and activities, and engages with community and individuals in harder to reach areas such as inpatient wards and hospitals.

This is a contract, part-time position for 45 hours per fortnight to 30th June 2025. Immediate start.

Essential Minimum Requirements

  • It is a genuine occupational qualification of this position to have a lived experience of mental health/social and emotional wellbeing issues and recovery in accordance with section 66(s)(c) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including consumers, service providers and hospitals.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills with a strong team and member focus.
  • Demonstrated planning, time management and organisational skills, especially in relation to events.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing priorities, exercising initiative and discretion, and managing competing deadlines.
  • High level general computer and digital literacy skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and as part of a team to accomplish shared goals.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in working in a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Experience facilitating in group settings.
