About the Program

Anglicare NT’s Financial Counsellors provide free, confidential, non-judgmental assistance for individuals and families to sort out money worries, explore options and plan for the future. Anglicare NT also provide short courses to assist participants build money management skills.

About the Opportunity

Based in Nhulunbuy, the Senior Financial Counsellor is a valuable member of the East Arnhem Money Support Hub. You will assist individuals in financial difficulties by providing information, money management skills and coaching, to help participants make better financial decisions and build financial resilience. You will also provide mentoring support to other Financial Counsellors within the East Arnhem team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum Diploma in Community Services (Financial Counselling) along with registration with an affiliated professional body.
  • 5 -years minimum experience working as a Financial Counsellor including supporting other Financial Counselling staff.
  • Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain effective networks and partnerships to support successful participant outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work respectfully and inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse people.
  • The ability to travel via 4wd, light plane and ferry along with the requirement to work periodic out of hours work.
