Action for People with Disability Inc (ACTION) is a community-based not-for-profit organisation providing independent individual advocacy and support to people with disability. ACTION was formed in 1978 by families in the northern metropolitan region of Sydney with one integral mission; an unwavering commitment to the belief that people with disability have the same rights as all other people. Our vision and objectives are driven by our desire to achieve inclusion and empowerment, whilst removing barriers for people with disability.
The role of the ACTION Board is to make values-based decisions about the allocation of resources to support our dedicated Advocates and support staff to execute our mission, and to assist with the identification of opportunities for our services to have greater impact on the lives of people living with disability within our community.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Secretary to join our Board to uphold the professionalism, organisation and good governance of our leading body. In this volunteer role, you’ll work closely with the Board President and the Executive Officer to ensure our compliance requirements are met and board members are provided with accurate and current information to allow for quality decision-making.
